“Day one. Little Kenny James Herrmann. It was kind of a rough one. At least until you came along. Bunch of us took some knocks today but that’s the way it goes sometimes. You came along and you made a lot of people really happy. Not just your old man. You’re a lucky guy. You were born into a really big family. A lot of people gonna have your back no matter what. Like I said, it’s not gonna be all sunshine and roses. But I can promise it’s gonna be a hell of a ride.”

Everyone around Iker Casillas
Clos Gómez blew the final whistle after the regular 90 minutes. 1-1 and extra time. The Madrid players, surrounding Casillas, a substitute again, who acted like a captain and made one step ahead and took control of a team left with no coach.
While Karanka was looking in vain for Mourinho, Casillas experienced in overcoming extra times during important games, took control of the situation on the field and started to encourage and give instructions to his team mates. All of them, surrounding him, were listening to him. Without the presence of Mourinho or his assistant, he was the authority.
When Clos Gomes blew the final whistle, Casillas acted once again as a captain. He went to console his team mates and to congratulate all the red-white players.
